Mark Your Calendars! Here are some top picks for Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta and the vicinity.

CALLAWAY GARDENS

Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival
Friday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 6

Soar into September at the 17th annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival. The weekend kicks off with the extraordinary Friday Night Balloon Glow and continues all weekend long. Watch beautiful balloons in flight or hop in a basket for your own tethered balloon ride. Saturday is filled with family-friendly events, including live music, beach activities, a Kids Zone and much more. There's something for everyone with a classic car show, disc dog demonstrations, a pyrotechnic skydiving demonstration, as well as a 5K Race and Triathlon event. Plus, you'll find drink specials and sports on the televisions at the Beach Bar as well as some of Atlanta's top-rated food trucks throughout the festival. Cap off the weekend with a final balloon glow Sunday night on Robin Lake Beach.

9am to 5pm - Regular Admission Prices. After 5pm - Half Price Special Event Admission. See website for specifics!

Senior (Age 65+) - $25

CELEBRATE FREEDOM CONCERT TOUR (Sat.  Sept. 5)

Billed as the largest outdoor FREE one-day concert in America, Celebrate Freedom is a day-long concert / festival featuring Christian artists. Hosted by 104.7 The Fish.
Location: Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Rd. NW, Marietta GA 30008
Featuring: Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Crowder, Kari Jobe, Big Daddy Weave, Colton Dixon, Meredith Andrews, Moriah Peters

Parking is $5 with ticket and $15 without.

It's time for college football - #6 Auburn Tigers take on #25 Louisville Cardinals in the Georgia Dome at 3:30pm

If you’re in search of FREE pre-game fun, head to Tailgate Town on the West Plaza of the Georgia World Congress Center. The outdoor fan experience will include food samples, a cornhole tournament, barbeque cook-off, live entertainment and more.
To take your tailgating to the next level, purchase tickets for the Tiger Tailgate or Official UofL Tailgate at the Georgia World Congress Center. The indoor All-American Tailgates will feature a BBQ lunch with pregame entertainment, just steps away from the Georgia Dome.

DRAGON CON (Sept. 4 – 7)
Dragon Con is the internationally known pop culture convention held each Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. Organized for fans, Dragon Con features more than about 3,000 hours of comics, film, television, costuming, art, music and gaming over four days. More than 65,000 people are expected to pack downtown Atlanta over the Labor Day weekend, and Atlanta’s largest parade, the annual Dragon Con Parade, will step off Saturday, September 5 at 10 a.m.
