But when Britt wakes up with a huge wad of gum stuck in her hair, she’s afraid her parents might cancel the trip! About StinkyKids
StinkyKids is created by Britt Menzies, an award-winning children’s author, mom, wife and entrepreneur who was inspired by her daughter’s simple request to paint her as a ballerina.
StinkyKids comes from the phrase ‘little stinkers," a term of endearment that represents the innocent, mischievous behavior of Britt’s two children, Max and Emma. Her family’s everyday antics often provide content and insight into the StinkyKids and their hilarious adventures.
The StinkyKids characters are little stinkers who learn to make right choices through their childhood mistakes and who live by the motto “Always be a leader of good." StinkyKids is an innovative brand that appeals to parents for the values it represents and appeals to kids because the characters are real kids getting into real mischief.
Britt’s first two books, StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors, and StinkyKids See A Full Moon, have been awarded the Mom’s Choice Silver Award for excellence in literacy. In addition to being a children’s author, Britt was a contributor in Chicken Soup for the Soul, an inspirational book by Jack Canfield released in 2009. In 2008, Britt was chosen by Bloomingdale’s as a WOW! Women to Watch finalist for her work in developing consumer products based on the StinkyKids brand.
One of Britt’s proudest professional achievements occurred in 2012 with the debut of StinkyKids The Musical, a family production by Vital Theatre based on the StinkyKids books and characters that appeared to sell-out crowds on Broadway. StinkyKids The Musical won the 2012 Best Family Show award by the Off Broadway Alliance.
Britt now lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband Mark, and their two little stinKers, Max and Emma, and their bulldog named Pudgy.
