All Hail King Julien, a Netflix original series featuring Madagascar’s favorite royal lemur, debuted on Dec. 19, 2014. Five brand new episodes will premiere on Netflix this Friday, April 3rd.  Want to catch up on the first ones?  Episodes one through five are streaming now, including the series premiere, where Uncle King Julien abdicates his throne, handing off the crown to Prince Julien – and the reign of King Julien the Thirteenth begins!

King Julien is here to party, and no one can stop him from ruling with an iron fist ... in the air, wavin' like he just doesn't care! All Hail King Julien brings the wild world of Madagascar to a totally original, totally hilarious and totally insane television series in which the king takes on the craziest adventures the jungle has to offer. A new cast of fantastic, colorful characters joins King Julien himself, along with his second-in-command Maurice, and the eternally devoted Mort. It's a riot of color -- not to mention a laugh riot -- when viewers All Hail King Julien! And it’s only on Netflix!

We were able to screen several of the new episodes (which will be available on Netflix April 3rd). Our favorite was “He Blinded Me With Science.” In this episode, Julien teams up with Timo the tenrec, a scientist who the king enlists to automate everything in the kingdom. Why? Well because his boombox is broken. Without his boombox, King Julien can't dance - and if he can't dance, well then no one is going to dance! And when the boombox is fixed, Julien decides science is a miracle, and Timo is charged with, well, charging the kingdom. Fun is had with hair dryers and even electric toothbrushes. Dancing ensues. And from the boombox comes some really fun music that will get your household up and moving too.

There are plenty of fun characters in this show, but my favorite is Mort - the giant-eyed, loveable mouse lemur who, as in the Madagascar films, is voiced by Andy Richter. I've been having fun perusing the show's Facebook page and sharing amusing Mort videos. The Facebook page HERE is something you and your kids can all enjoy!

All Hail King Julien is an entertaining series your kids (and likely you) are sure to love. The animation is amazing (it's Dreamworks after all) and the music is rocking. I don't know how you feel about kids binge-watching TV, but starting April 3 all ten episodes will be available for viewing.  Stream on!
