Egg Hunts, Egg Drops & Eggstravaganzas....Here is Your List for 2017!

Hippity Hop! Spring has sprung, and that means it is time for families to get outside and enjoy annual Easter egg hunts, egg drops and all the other fun holidays events the area has to offer. Here's a quick reference list for events in this area. Most are separated by age group and most are free. Some are evening events (flashlight hunts). Just click on the names below to go directly to the sites for all the specifics!


2017 Decatur Easter Egg Hunt - Saturday, April 8. The annual DBA Easter Egg Hunt returns April 8 at 11 am, with the bunny arriving at 10:30 am. The hunt begins at 11am sharp and is staggered by age groups so that parents with more than one child, in different age groups, can experience the fun with each of their children. This event is presented by the Decatur Business Association in partnership with First Baptist Church of Decatur. Front lawn of First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave. Rain location is the lower level of Decatur First Baptist Church parking garage.

Spring EGG-stravaganza at Fernbank Museum of Natural History - Saturday April 8 from 10am to 2pm. This festive annual event is the perfect way for families to welcome spring with opportunities to meet live baby animals, find prize-filled eggs, play fun games, participate in special activities and more. Included with museum admission /free for members. 767 Clifton Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA.

Easter Eggstravaganza at The Rock Ranch - Saturday, April 8 from 11am to 4pm. This free Easter Egg Hunt in The Rock, Ga. is the Rock Ranch's gift to the community. Children can hunt for more than 40,000 plastic prize eggs. This event will include a presentation of the Easter story from the Bible just before the egg hunt. Kids can also get photos with the Easter Bunny (no charge. Concessions are available Attractions will open (for a fee) at 11am including carousel, pony ride, train ride, and giant jumping pillow. Smyrna Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt & Movie by Moonlight at Tolleson ParkĀ - Saturday, April 8. Grab your flashlight and head to Tolleson Park! This event is for children 10 & younger. "Floppy" will be arriving at 7:00pm. Children can get their pictures taken with him and enjoy a craft project before the first hunt. There will be three age groups. The group hunt will begin at 7:35pm. The last hunt will begin at 8:15pm. After the last hunt, grab your blankets and go on down to the field for the movie "The Secret Life of Pets." Register at the Smyrna Community Center or Wolfe Adult Recreation Center. $5 per family in advance/ $10 at the park. 3590 King Springs Rd Smyrna, Georgia 30080.

Magic Monday at Atlanta History Center - Egg Hunt on the Farm - Monday, April 10 from 10am to 1pm. Celebrate springtime on the Smith Family Farm during this annual egg hunt. Join the search for colorful eggs hidden throughout the farm to win prizes. Participate in fun and games such as the peep toss, doing the bunny hop, and creating spring crafts. Hop on by and visit the Easter Bunny, too! Members admitted free. Admission is $6.50 adults; $5.50 children. 130 West Paces Ferry Road NW Atlanta, GA 30305.

Egg Hunt at Smith Plantation - (Roswell) Friday, April 14 at 10:00am. Enjoy this annual Easter Egg Hunt and spend the morning finding candy-filled treasures on the grounds of this historic home. Children should bring their own baskets. Photos will the Easter Bunny will be available. Admission is $5 per person. 935 Alpharetta St. Roswell, GA 30075.

City of Brookhaven Easter Egg Hunt - Saturday, April 15 at Blackburn Park. Activities will begin at 9:00am including light snacks, face painting, bounce house and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunts will begin at 10am for all age groups. FREE. 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

The North Atlanta Easter Egg Hunt
- Saturday, April 15
from 10am to noon. Enjoy a morning of fun with egg hunts, bouncy houses, petting zoo, pony rides and more. FREE. Wieuca Road Baptist Church, 3626 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30326.

Peachtree Church Easter Egg Hunt at Chastain Park - Saturday, April 15 from 10am to noon. Join Peachtree Children and Family Ministry for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Ages 2 and under 10:30 am Ages 3-5 10:45 am Ages 6 and up 11:00 am.$5 donation per Chick-fil-a meal.

Hop in the Park at Atlantic Station - Saturday, April 15 from1pmto 4pm. It's the ultimate bunny-friendly event. Enjoy FREE family-focused crafts and activities, plus fun entertainment from bubble artists and more! Also, the Georgia House Rabbit Society will be on hand with real-life, adorable bunnies for you to snuggle. Want to sweeten your weekend? Stay tuned for information on our Golden Egg hunt, which means FREE gift cards for a handful of lucky hoppers! From 12 to 4pm, you can head over to the Dillard's kids department for photos with the Easter Bunny. Take photos with your phone or camera, plus enjoy a FREE keepsake photo too.

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt 2017 - Saturday, April 15 from 9am to 1pm. Bring your basket and your camera for a family friendly Easter egg hunt amidst Callanwoldeā€™s beautiful spring gardens and grounds. Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt features thousands of candy-filled eggs to find (including three golden ā€œprizeā€ eggs) and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. There will be family friendly games, a LEGO building station provided by LEGOLAND Discovery Center, face painting, and a kidsā€™ dance floor with DJ J&M Sound Design. Admission will be $4 online, or $8 at the door for children and adults. Admission to Callanwoldeā€™s special events are always half off for members! Tickets may sell out, so we strongly recommend buying ahead.

EggFest 2016 - Saturday, April 15 from 10am to 1pm. Bounce houses, inflatable games, pony rides and more all designed for the whole family. Easter Egg hunt will be divided into age groups from nursery to 6th grade with over 25,000 eggs! Admission is FREE. Event is held at The Lovett School, 4075 Paces Ferry Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30327 (shuttle service available from Mount Paran).Ā 

Natural Egg Dyeing at Atlanta Botanical Garden - Saturday April 15 from 11am to 1pm.Ā Certain plants contain powerful dyes that create stunning colors. Enjoy this interactive drop-in class to learn more about these plants while decorating vibrant eggs.Ā 

8th Annual Northeast Cobb Community Egg Drop - Saturday, April 15, from 10am to 5pm. Egg hunts start at 11:30am. HELICOPTER EGG DROP at 1:30pm onto the football field! Kid Zone, photos with the Easter Bunny,food & more. Entertainment by LEW-Eā€™s Comedy Circus. About 90,000 eggs and pieces of candy!
