Every May, families in Brookhaven celebrate National Bike Month by participating in Brookhaven's annual Pedal the Parks event. The family-friendly event highlights Brookhaven’s pride in public parks and commitment to a bike-friendly community, all while connecting residents with local community organizations.
On Sunday, May 4th, 2024 starting 1:15 p.m., bicyclists will begin to gather at Skyland park for a family-friendly 6-mile group ride. At 2 p.m. sharp, bicyclists will begin pedaling from Skyland park to visit 5 other public parks across Brookhaven. The City of Brookhaven Police will be posted at key intersections to ensure the safety of all participants.
Riders are encouraged to stop at each park to collect a stamp in their Pedal the Parks passport. Local Brookhaven community organizations will provide the stamps along with some fun perks, too!'

The annual event is managed by the Brookhaven Bike Alliance in partnership with Explore Brookhaven. The Brookhaven Bike Alliance works closely with the City of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation to help foster safer streets and better citywide connectivity for cyclists of all ages.
