June 30, 2016
In conjunction with Atlanta Track Club, Colony Square presents its inaugural 4th on the Square, an official AJC Peachtree Road Race celebration for spectators and participants on Monday, July 4. Between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., Colony Square invites the community to kick off Fourth of July festivities at this exciting, new event with food, games, music and ice cold beverages including a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar.

“Thousands of participants and spectators take to Peachtree Street every Fourth of July for this beloved Atlanta tradition,” said Liz Gillespie, Vice President of Marketing at North American Properties. “At Colony Square, we will provide a new space for friends, family and the greater community to cheer on the runners, toast the winners and celebrate our great nation in the heart of Midtown.”

Spectators should arrive at Colony Square by 7 a.m. to grab a spot near Peachtree Street. Onlookers can catch all the race excitement at Colony Square’s Plaza, which will be alive with stilt walkers, balloons, American flags and more, on the corner of 15th and Peachtree Street. Located at the last leg of the race, between mile five and mile six, Colony Square is conveniently positioned just minutes from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Family Meeting Area in the meadow at Piedmont Park.

Beginning at 7 a.m., Colony Square will play music from DJ Pat O’Brien with EastCoast Entertainment. Partygoers of all ages can indulge in All-American fare including backyard barbecue favorites like burgers, hot dogs and ice cream. Michelob Ultra will provide an assortment of beverages including a Bloody Mary and mimosa bar for those over 21. Throughout the day, guests can challenge each other to a friendly game of Giant Jenga and Cornhole, as well as receive festive airbrush art on their arms and cheeks. Additionally, the College Football Hall of Fame will be onsite hosting exciting activities for all.

Colony Square encourages guests to share the fun on social media using the hashtag #FourthOnTheSQ to receive printed pictures from the onsite Flashtag Photo Booth. Colony Square’s parking garage on 15th Street will be accessible, and MARTA’s Arts Center stop is only a three-minute walk to Colony Square’s Plaza. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
