An Early Fall in Atlanta. Festivals, Fairs & Fun This Week!

Buckhead Midtown Brookhaven Macaroni Kid - Your Weekly Events & Activities Newsletter

September 18, 2014
Fall definitely has arrived early in Atlanta. I guess the idea of a "Fall Break" in Cobb County wasn't so far fetched for early September! Decatur kids are happy too! Our neighborhood had decided to keep the pool open for an extra week, but we never got there - obviously, too chilly.  Oh well - you certainly can't complain about this beautiful weather. Unless you are prone to allergy headaches like me. Bring on the icepacks and essential oils! And I'm forcing myself to drink lots and lots of water.

The photo above is of one of two piles in our backyard. We're now in an unincorporated section of Cobb County. Apparently burning is the way to go. (But not until October 1st). I'm a little hesitant to start this bonfire!! I think I'll be finding someone to haul this away, considering the stack is close to six feet tall! If you're all about the outdoors, you should plan to head to Chattahoochee Nature Center next Sunday for Outdoor Skills Day - where you can learn, among other things, how to build a fire. CLICK HERE for the flyer.

The North Georgia State Fair begins today and there are lots of other festivals around the metro including Music Midtown in Piedmont Park, Sandy Springs Festival, Roswell Arts Festival, JapanFest in Duluth.  Between Music Midtown, Garth Brooks at Philips Arena and the Braves at home this weekend, expect lots of traffic downtown!

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this amazing weather! Maybe take a drive through Buckhead to see the now completed and open BUCKHEAD ATLANTA - years in the works! Goodbye construction!
